EDUCATIONAL PROJECT
The Contemporary Art Center of Sustainability The "Forn de la Calç" of Calders with its educational project wants to open new areas of work where the different actors involved in art education (art centers, artists, schools, public ...) find a suitable space to relate and understand contemporary art practice.
Currently the exhibition gets great effectiveness in the creation and production patterns, favoring a good frame of visibility, but it becomes less effective from a reception parameters by a public that is not normally prepared for the experience critical this offer. This initial crack makes educational strategies are in danger of falling into debtors transmission systems rhythms of academic teaching, where the public learns what the museum says, with no leeway. It is true that the exhibition offers a critical reading of the environment that aims other possible models for interpreting reality, which favors a political position but, at last, after all, the public still encountering problems and questions before the art event. In fact, the show closed when the user receives the exposure only seems to allow access way that makes it difficult to establish links between art and public dialect.
However, the distance between art and society this is not to focus solely on expository reading. Part of the communication problems between the practice of art and the public are also visible from a suspicious approach by this. The lack of custom, the extension of knowledge from the comfort or some access to culture from the search for a cause shallow elitism, social approach to contemporary art is not very fruitful.
CACIS believes that should open new avenues of work where the positions are closer to each other and promote models of impaired two-way learning rhythms, where the linear reilación museum as public issuer and the receiver is replaced by a horizontal structure where merge the different roles constantly.
CACIS presents a model of accessibility to contemporary art with an exercise in experimentation where art practice generates a critical discourse about reality and not from the artistic, but from the public itself, from an education will, as a path of action .
To achieve this direct contact with the different agents CACIS works from the attempt to define space as a new relationship within the public sphere, which is aimed at a wide variety of public contexts specific reading needs.
